Daily Maintenance & Long-Term Preservation of Stone Slabs, Countertops and Crafts

09 Oct, 2026

Proper daily maintenance is key to preserving the luster and texture of marble slabs, granite slabs, custom stone countertops, and stone crafts, as well as extending their service life. It ensures that natural stone products remain in pristine and elegant condition over the long term. Since marble products are prone to slight water and oil absorption, proper daily maintenance is particularly crucial.

Marble slabs, countertops, and decorative items should be kept away from prolonged contact with colored liquids, oil stains, and standing water. If stained, wipe them clean immediately with a soft cotton cloth and a neutral detergent to prevent the stain from penetrating the surface and causing permanent discoloration. Never use acidic or alkaline corrosive cleaners, such as bleach or toilet cleaners, as these can corrode the stone’s surface and damage its natural veining.

Granite products have higher density and stronger stain resistance; however, kitchen countertops and outdoor paving slabs—which are constantly exposed to harsh environments—still require regular maintenance. Applying a stain-resistant sealant can effectively enhance the surface’s resistance to stains and weathering.
During daily use, all types of stone countertops should be protected from scratches caused by sharp or hard objects, heavy pressure from heavy objects, and direct exposure to high temperatures to prevent surface wear, cracking, and structural damage. Large stone slabs used for extensive wall and floor installations should be regularly dusted, waxed, and polished to restore their luster and enhance the depth of their texture.

Delicate stone crafts should be protected from impacts and drops and must not be left in damp environments for extended periods. Regular dry wiping and ventilation can effectively prevent moisture, mold, and oxidation that causes loss of luster. Following standardized and regular maintenance practices can effectively prevent issues such as aging, fading, and wear, fully preserving the natural beauty and structural stability of marble and granite products, and maximizing the practical and aesthetic value of all types of stone products.
